Update Your Profile

1. Open your profile by clicking the Account icon in the upper left corner menu bar.

2. Click the Profile link on the pop-up menu.

3. Click on the profile picture to update it with a school appropriate image.

4. Save your profile.

Notifications

Notification Preferences allow users to select how and when they want to be notified when various events occur within a course. Notification settings are applied to all courses. Canvas users can choose how often they want to receive Canvas notifications.

Communication Channels

First, set the ways you want to be notified. Good choices include notification through email and SMS text message. Your account already has your school email address as a communication channel, and you will use your Canvas Inbox.

If you want to receive notification as text messages on your phone, click Settings on left. Then click the Add contact Method on the right.

Set Your Notifications

Click Notifications on the left. You can hover your mouse over a course activity item to see a description of that notification. Hover over the notification type you want to change and choose immediate (1), daily (2), weekly (3), or none (4).
